Bou Player (“we”, “our”, or “the App”) is a local media player application developed by Laboua. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our application, available on the Google Play Store under the package name com.laboua.bouplayer.

2. Information We Collect

Bou Player is designed with privacy in mind. We collect minimal information:

  • Device Information: Basic device information (device model, OS version) may be collected anonymously through Google AdMob for ad serving purposes.
  • Ad Interaction Data:When ads are displayed, Google AdMob may collect interaction data (impressions, clicks) in accordance with Google's own privacy policy.
  • Local Storage: The App stores your preferences (playback settings, subtitle preferences, recently played files) locally on your device. This data is never transmitted to our servers.

3. Information We Do NOT Collect

  • We do not collect personal identification information (name, email, phone number).
  • We do not access, store, or transmit the content of your media files.
  • We do not track your location.
  • We do not share any data with third parties beyond what is required for ad delivery.

4. Third-Party Services

The App uses the following third-party services:

  • Google AdMob: Used for displaying advertisements. AdMob may collect device identifiers and usage data. Please refer to Google's Privacy Policy for more details.
  • OpenSubtitles: When you search for subtitles, search queries (movie title or IMDB ID) are sent to the OpenSubtitles API. No personal data is transmitted.

5. Permissions

The App requests the following permissions:

  • Storage Access: To read and play media files stored on your device.
  • Internet: To stream media from URLs, download subtitles, and display advertisements.
  • Foreground Service: To continue audio playback when the App is in the background.

6. Data Security

All user preferences and playback history are stored locally on your device using encrypted shared preferences. We do not operate any servers that store user data.

7. Children's Privacy

Bou Player does not knowingly collect information from children under the age of 13. The App is a general-purpose media player and does not contain content directed at children.
